Obadiah Mshindi
Obadiah Mshindi is the owner and founding member of Mshindi Pan African Cultural Arts, LLC, where he leads community education, empowerment programs, and outreach initiatives. Based in Philadelphia, he has more than 30 years of teaching experience and a lifelong foundation in African combat systems. After earning expert Black Level status at age 11 – the youngest to do so within his system – he continued to advance MPACA’s mission and develop training programs rooted in cultural arts, functional movement, and practical self-defense.
Obadiah has instructed learners of all ages, including serving as a lead Physical Education teacher for kindergarten through 12th grade. He now leads curriculum design and training for all Mshindi Arts classes and workshops. His background includes competitive martial arts experience, where he earned 1st place and grand champion honors, as well as extensive work in boxing, extreme sports, functional training, combat fitness, survival fitness, and Wilderness/SERE training for civilians and community groups.
Through Mshindi Arts, LLC, Obadiah offers workshops and courses for men, women, couples, families, and children, including emerging programs focused on conflict resolution and thematic learning for youth. His teaching blends cultural arts, martial systems, and empowerment-based approaches to create transformational learning experiences that support physical skill-building, personal growth, and community strength.
Obadiah’s students are primarily BIPOC individuals, families, and community members seeking practical skills, confidence, cultural connection, and holistic empowerment. His work reflects a deep commitment to accessible training that uplifts and strengthens the communities he serves.
