Tasha Church
Tasha Church is an Empowerment Self-Defense instructor, holistic practitioner, and the founder of ElleLiveAction. With 24 years of experience, she specializes in real-world, trauma-informed self-defense that adapts to people’s actual lives and environments. Her teaching philosophy centers on accessibility — demonstrating that self-defense should work whether someone is wearing heels, a dress, shorts, a suit, or everyday clothing. Her programs integrate self-care, somatic awareness, and practical skills to help people feel safer, stronger, and more grounded in their daily lives.
Tasha holds a rare Level-4 ESD Certification, making her one of very few professionals globally to reach this level. She is Nationally Certified in Empowerment Self-Defense through the National Women’s Martial Arts Federation and holds the ESD Professional (ESDP) credential through the Association of ESD Professionals. Her training also includes over 50 hours with IMPACT Global and IMPACT Personal Safety. Beyond ESD, she is certified in Somatic EMDR Therapy and is currently earning her Somatic Teaching Certification through the Workout Witch, further deepening her trauma-informed approach.
Through ElleLiveAction, Tasha offers courses, workshops, and training programs that focus on self-care, self-healing, resilience, and accessible self-defense. Students learn confidence, boundary-setting, situational awareness, and emotional and physical tools that support their overall wellbeing. Her instruction serves a broad audience and can be supported through interpreters when needed to ensure inclusivity.
Tasha has been featured in multiple media outlets, podcasts, and industry events, and her interviews, collaborations, and additional work can be found on ElleLiveAction’s website. Her mission is to empower individuals to reclaim their voice, strengthen their sense of safety, and show up fully in their everyday lives.
