Board Member

Kassoum Coulibaly is an esteemed economist, strategist, governance, and gender expert dedicated to advancing global economic and social progress, sustainable development, and universal peace promotion. With over 21 years of experience, he has worked extensively with youth and women in Africa aa well as across the globe. His career has seen collaborations with numerous national, continental, and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and United Nations (UN) agencies, including UNESCO, UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA, UN Women, UNV, and UNCTAD in Africa. Notably, he has contributed to Civil Society Reference Groups (CSRGs) with the UN Global Spotlight Initiative, addressing issues such as Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Child Marriage, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), as well as Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).

Currently serving as the President and CEO of Afrika Global Gender Academy - AGGA, affiliated with the African Development Group (ADG) / Groupe du Développement de l’Afrique (GDA), Kassoum champions Human Rights, Women's Rights, Gender Equality, and the Empowerment & Entrepreneurship of Women and Girls globally. He emphasizes the inclusion of men and boys in advancing these agendas, aligning with Africa2063 and UN SDGs.

Kassoum's decision to join the ESD Global Board of Directors is rooted in his life mission to contribute to a peaceful, happy, sustainable, intercultural, and interdependent world. Leveraging his global advocacy voice and technical expertise in gender equality, positive masculinity promotion, governance, and entrepreneurship, he aims to elevate ESD Global's development and performance, particularly in Africa, and amplify its impact for Women, Girls, Men, and Boys sustainably. By positioning Africa as a significant player within the ESD Global Movement, Kassoum intends to serve as an effective global ambassador and social entrepreneur, promoting innovative strategies, programs, and partnerships to prevent and respond to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) worldwide.

Kassoum is married with 3 children (2 girls and a boy).
