A Safer World For Women is Within Reach.
Put Empowerment Self-Defense to work in your community.
Hear from our Founder and President on the history of ESD Global and our upcoming training opportunities for 2020.
Who We Are
ESD Global is a US-based nonprofit organization (NGO) that envisions a world where people can live safe, violence-free lives. Our mission is to establish Empowerment Self-Defense (ESD) as a key primary violence prevention strategy for women and vulnerable populations. ESD is a holistic approach to personal safety. It provides individuals with the tools they need to interrupt violence when it is happening and to reduce the likelihood of being targeted.
What We Do
ESD Global is dedicated to making Empowerment Self-Defense (ESD) training accessible globally through training ESD trainers to teach in their communities, supporting research and programs that increase public awareness of the profound benefits of ESD training, and engaging stakeholders to increase access to ESD training.
Our founder, Yehudit (Yudit) Zicklin-Sidikman, leads a dedicated group of ESD practitioners who envision a world where all people have the Empowerment Self-Defense skills to protect themselves and others.
ESD Global's flagship instructor training program takes place in August in Huguenot, New York in partnership with the International Judo Camp of the YMCA of Greater New York. International instructor trainings, as well as trainings around the US happen throughout the year with partner organizations and are added to the website as they are confirmed. Please contact us if your organization would like to sponsor an ESD Instructor training in your community.
